VIRGINIA DGIF HUNTER EDUCATION CLASS
In Virginia, first time hunters and hunters 12 to 15 years of age are required to complete the hunter education course before buying a hunting license, and to present the course completion certificate when the license is purchased.

INTERNATIONAL BOWHUNTER EDUCATION PROGRAM
This course is not required to bowhunt in Virginia but it is required to hunt with groups like Surburbian Whitetail Management and to hunt on certain Military Resurvations within Virginia. It is required if you want to bowhunt in 19 states.
